W2-Professorship with development commitment according to W3 "Inorganic functional materials" (m/w/d)

We are looking for an internationally recognized personality (m/f/d) in the field of synthesis and structural characterization of molecular inorganic materials. We expect links to the existing university focus in materials research, including aspects of sustainability, e.g. through resource-efficient synthetic methods for inorganic materials, or through the development of sustainable processes using molecular inorganic catalysts for chemical reactions. The successful candidate works with modern synthetic methods of inorganic molecular chemistry and ensures the continuation of existing methods in instrumental analysis, in particular single-crystal X-ray structure analysis. Candidates have the potential to make substantial contributions to existing and initiate future research collaborations.
In teaching, the professorship covers the full range of inorganic and general chemistry in all degree programs with chemistry components. The ability to teach in German and English, if necessary after a defined training period, is required as well as the willingness to further develop the teaching program.
Successful acquisition of competitive third-party funding to an extent appropriate for the professorship, a qualitatively outstanding publication record in the subject, longer international research stays and experience in supervising qualification theses are expected.
For this professorship, participation in the academic self-administration of the university is part of the official duties. The recruitment and performance requirements according to §§ 67, 68, 70, para. 1 of the Hessian Higher Education Act (HessHG) apply. As such, the position requires additional postdoctoral qualifications in the form of a habilitation or equivalent academic qualifications (postdoctoral thesis or adequate publication activities). In the event of any differences between the German and English versions of this call for application, the German wording is legally binding.
