A person with research and teaching experience is sought to coordinate the BA/MA Vocational Education study programme. It includes the preparation, supervision and follow-up of work placements and practical trainings at school as well as the coordination of the teaching methodology in metal technology and electrical engineering. Research and teaching should focus on the development of teaching methodology in metal technology and electrical engineering. Furthermore there should also be focus on one of the following areas:
• Digital transformation in VET
• Sustainability and technology assessment in VET
• Professionalisation of vocational teachers
• Transitions, heterogeneity, inclusion and special target groups in VET
The future holder of this position should demonstrate his/her expertise through relevant peer-reviewed publications. Experience in successful acquisition of third party funding is expected.
Apart from an active participation in at least one of the faculty’s main research areas, a willingness to engage in academic networking within the university is required.
The teaching duties are to be fulfilled in the Bachelor's and Master's L4 teaching degree programmes with the professional specialisations of metal technology and electrical engineering. In addition, regular teaching duties are to be offered within the 'Education and Social Sciences Core Studies' of the University of Kassel, currently in module 2 'Teaching, Learning and Instruction in Vocational Education'.
Participation in academic self-administration is part of the official duties.
