According to Section 70 (3) of the Higher Education Act of Hesse with a development commitment after a probationary period of 6 years to receive a permanent contract as a W 2 Professor.
We are looking for an academic personality who will further develop and represent the subject area of "Social Entrepreneurship" in research and teaching. The requirements and opportunities for sustainable development through business start-ups and entrepreneurship are diverse and should be the focus of the research agenda of this professorship.

Candidates are expected to work on the basis of a management-oriented view.

Content-related connectivity to the research focus areas of the Faculty of Economics and Management (1) sustainability, energy and environment, (2) skills acquisition and entrepreneurship, or (3) digital transformation is a key requirement. Work on social sustainability topics is an advantage. Interfaces to other research foci of the University of Kassel, especially to the "Centre for Sustainability Research", are desired.

The post holder should have published in reputable international peer-reviewed journals and have relevant teaching experience. Teaching is of great importance at the University of Kassel. Therefore, the applicant is requested to submit the results of meaningful teaching evaluations. Participation in basic business education is expected. Initial experience in the acquisition and implementation of third-party funded projects and interdisciplinary cooperation is also expected. The department offers numerous networking opportunities, especially in research.

Participation in academic self-administration is one of the official duties.

The professorship should contribute to the internationalisation of the Faculty of Economics and Management. The applicant should be able to teach courses in English and - after three years at the latest - in German. It is requested that the application documents be submitted in English.

The prerequisites for employment and performance requirements are determined by §§ 67, 68 (1) and 70 (3) of the Higher Education Act of the Federal State of Hesse (HessHG). This call for applicants of the qualification professorship is explicitly aimed at scientists in an early career phase. As a general rule, the duration of scientific activity should not exceed 9 years during and after the doctorate or 4 years after the doctorate.
