The successful candidate will have internationally visible publications and, as a rule, a habilitation or equivalent academic achievements. He*she will have proven the ability to successfully acquire competitive third-party funds. Applicants should have a significant record of relevant scientific work in one or more of the following areas:
• Magnetic components in power electronics,
• High band gap power semiconductors,
• Suppression of electromagnetic interference,
• Power electronic applications.

Teaching duties included the courses
• Fundamentals of power engineering
• Power Electronics
in the Bachelor and Master curricula in electrical engineering and mechatronics. The professor is also expected to participate in teaching mandatory courses. Very good didactic skills and the willingness to conduct teaching in German and English as well as participation in the academic self-administration is expected.

The professorship will be established within the framework of the Heisenberg Programme of the German Research Foundation. A requirement for the appointment is a positive decision by the German Research Foundation on an application for a Heisenberg Professorship.

The employment is initially limited to a W3 professorship in a temporary civil service employment for a period of three years, provided that the civil service law requirements are met, and will be transferred to a permanent W3 professorship after a positive evaluation by the DFG.

The prerequisites for employment and performance requirements are determined by §§ 67, 68 of the Higher Education Act of the Federal State of Hesse (HessHG).
