We are looking for a scientifically distinguished personality who represents macroeconomics in research and teaching.

Candidates must have published in prestigious international peer-reviewed journals and entertain a strong academic network. In the field of research, they must exhibit connectivity to at least one of the following fields of research at the Faculty of Economics and Management:
Economic Behavior & Governance
Acquiring Skills & Entrepreneurship
Sustainability, Energy and the Environment.

Academic achievements related to the topics
Education
Digitalization
Environment, energy and climate change
Distribution and sustainable development
are an advantage.
Academic achievements related to other research fields of the University of Kassel are desirable. Candidates have to provide evidence of success in acquiring third-party funding and experience in interdisciplinary cooperation.

In teaching, the entire field of macroeconomics must be covered. Basic and advanced courses at bachelor and master level are to be offered in German and English, among others in the Master programs Economic Behavior and Governance, “Nachhaltiges Wirtschaften” and “Wirtschaft, Psychologie und Management”. Candidates will have subject-specific teaching experience. They are expected to be willing to participate in graduate education within the Graduate School Economic Behavior and Governance as well as the inter-university network MAGKS. Teaching is of great importance at the University of Kassel. Therefore, candidates are requested to submit results of meaningful teaching evaluations and certificates of participation in continuing education courses in higher education didactics.

The Macroeconomics unit led by the successful candidate is expected to contribute to the internationalization of the Faculty of Economics and Management. Participation in academic self-government is part of the duties of the position.

The hiring requirements and the performance requirements according to §§ 67 and 68 of the Hessian Higher Education Act apply.
