We are looking for a personality with nationally and internationally renowned artistic and creative practice in the field of illustration/comics who can ensure a future-oriented education of students in the current Illustration/Comic specialisation within the Visual Communication degree programme. A research and teaching focus is expected that concentrates on questions of the mediation and further development of design and artistic competence in relation to drawing practices. The focus is on narrative forms as well as the consideration of documentary possibilities. Drawing and image production in artistic as well as pop-cultural contexts, in two- as well as three-dimensional spaces, which can be analogue as well as digital, are thus to be taught and researched. The investigation of analogue and digital forms of production and especially of publishing are part of the space of action to be taught and researched, which opens up on the question of what contemporary image production is and means today. The application must be accompanied by a concept of planned focal points and questions to be addressed within the framework of the professorship.

Subject-related teaching experience (evidence in the application documents), didactic competences and the willingness and ability to conduct courses both in German and English are expected. A concept for qualified independent teaching, which in particular takes up ideas on cooperative interdisciplinary teaching and learning formats, is to be enclosed with the application. Participation in academic self-administration is part of the official duties.

Applicants are requested to submit the following documents:
- Letter of motivation

- Portfolio of works
- Overview of previous teaching experience
- Concept on planned focal points and issues to be addressed within the framework of the professorship (length: max. 3 pages)
