|Date of hire:
as soon as possible
The Faculty of Economics and Management is looking for a scientifically outstanding person to further develop and represent the field of "Information Systems, in particular Enterprise Systems and Platforms" in research and teaching. Information systems form the infrastructural basis of all business processes in today's companies and are therefore a central factor influencing corporate success. The professorship will focus on the design and management of these IT infrastructures, which today usually exist as a combination of different digital platforms, considering the latest digital technologies (such as artificial intelligence or distributed ledger technologies) and interfaces to external ecosystems (e.g. via APIs and SDKs). A focus on multi-method and interdisciplinary research is expected, as well as publications in relevant international journals in information systems and experience and success in the acquisition and management of third-party funded projects.
In addition, experience in interdisciplinary cooperation and international networking are desirable. The department offers numerous networking opportunities, especially in research. A central requirement is the ability to connect to the department's main research areas, in particular the focus on digital transformation, as well as to the other information systems colleagues at the Institute of Business Administration.
Applicants are expected to be able to teach the basics of information systems, e.g. in the areas of IT architectures and infrastructures, business application systems, business process support and information management, independently and with proven success. Teaching evaluations are therefore requested. A responsible role in the management and design of a future degree program in Information Systems is also expected.
Participation in academic self-administration is part of the duties.
The professorship should contribute to the internationalization of the department; courses should be offered in English and German.
Full-time position. The prerequisites for employment and performance requirements are determined by §§ 67, 68 of the Higher Education Act of the Federal State of Hesse (HessHG).
