We are looking for an internationally renowned researcher whose scientific excellence is documented by top-ranking publications. This at the interface between computer science and social sciences. This professorship analyses prerequisites, impacts and results of information technology and information processing in society. Applicants should be renowned via international scientific contributions for some of the following subjects:

• Usage and participation oriented IT- Design;
• Integration of gender and diversity-aspects in computer science R&D;
• Socio-technical system design;
• Human Computer Interaction (HCI)
• Social bias in AI-systems;
• Socio computer science;
• Media science basics of computer science;
• Innovations of methods;
• Research in design and art

An active participation in the scientific centre ITeG (Centre for IT Design) at the University of Kassel is expected. Experience in obtaining third-party funding, including DFG funding, is expected.

Teaching responsibilities include courses of the BA and MS studies, especially the lecture “learning and organisation”, as well as export lectures of computer science. This complements the current offers of the faculty via lectures and laboratories in the focus area of the BA and MS studies related to participative IT-Design.

Pedagogical capabilities and engagement in teaching are assumed.

Important note:
The faculty is aiming to increase the proportion of female professors and therefore encourages particularly female researchers to apply. Part of the work includes participation in academic self-administration duties. The prerequisites for employment and performance requirements are determined by §§ 61, 62 of the Higher Education Act of the Federal State of Hessen (HHG). Especially: The capability for doing research, proven by “Habilitation” or equivalent as well as pedagogical capabilities.
