The Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science is seeking a highly qualified individual for the following position:

Full-time position. The prerequisites for employment and performance requirements are determined by §§ 61, 62 of the Higher Education Act of the Federal State of Hesse (HHG).
The department is aiming to increase the proportion of female professors and therefore encourages female researchers particularly to apply.
The professor is expected to focus on an actual topic in the area of Distributed systems with considerable ties to Artificial Intelligence, in order to strengthen the research activities of the University of Kassel in this domain. Potential topics of the professorship include but are not limited to:
• Self-organising, self-learning and self-reflective distributed systems
• Cooperative autonomous robots
• Interaction in human-machine teams
• Socio-technical and hybrid distributed systems
• Multi-agent systems
• Internet of things
• Cooperation and coordination of distributed systems
• Modelling of and design methods for distributed systems
We are looking for an internationally renowned researcher with outstanding scientific achievements. The professor is expected to cooperate actively in the Research Center for Information System Design (ITeG). ITeG is one of four scientific centers at the University of Kassel. It focuses on a socio-technical perspective on the design of information technology, and encourages its members to work with researchers outside of their own discipline.
In addition to the ability to raise third-party funding from the DFG, EU and Federal Ministries educational qualifications, are expected.
Teaching duties extend to the Bachelor and Master curricula in computer science, in particular to the domains of distributed systems and operating systems. Participation in academic self-governance is expected.
