The teaching and research profile of the professorship comprises clinical fundamentals of the etiology and pathogenesis of mental disorders in adulthood and/or in childhood and adolescence as well as their treatment and intervention procedures at the level of the individual, the group and in health care institutions.
The professorship is to teach in the bachelor's degree programme in psychology, in the master's degree programme in psychology as well as in the future master's degree programme leading to the granting of a license to practice as a psychotherapist. The holder of the position should cover the subject of clinical psychology and psychotherapy in its entire breadth, appreciate the diversity of psychotherapy approaches and demonstrate the effort to do so in research and/or teaching.
Cooperation with the existing Chair of Clinical Psychology as well as a connection to other departments of the Institute of Psychology is expected. An activity in the research and teaching outpatient clinic is also expected.

The future job holder should demonstrate high didactic competence and commitment to teaching. A license to practice psychological psychotherapy is a prerequisite for an application. Expertise in empirical clinical-psychological research should be proven by publications in international peer-reviewed journals. In addition, experience in the acquisition of third-party funds (especially DFG) is expected. Commitment in academic self-administration is a prerequisite.
The advertised position is subject to the requirements set out in paragraphs §§ 61, 62 of the Higher Education Act of Hessen (Hessisches Hochschulgesetz).
In particular, the qualification for scientific work, usually demonstrated by habilitation or equivalent achievements, and pedagogical aptitude are required.
