We are looking for a scientifically outstanding personality who conducts research on current and innovative topics in the field of steel construction, successfully publishes the results with high national and international visibility and inspires students and employees for these topics. The focus of the research should be in the areas of experimental development and numerical modeling of steel and steel composite structures aiming for
- applications for new and innovative steel structures and connections for buildings and infrastructure projects.
The addition of one of the following topics to the research profile.
- Digital linking of design and construction processes,
- Extending the service life of structures, building monitoring,
- Cycle-oriented and resource-saving construction
Experience with the application and implementation of third-party funded projects and the willingness to take the lead in coordinated research projects is required, as well as the willingness to participate in the planned interdisciplinary research consortium on the application of shape memory alloys in civil engineering.
The professorship represents steel and composite construction in the teaching of the full range of courses in civil and environmental engineering and also addresses interdisciplinary topics in the field of building construction and assessment and rehabilitation of existing structures. Teaching experience is required.
Ideally, the applicant is familiar with the procedures of structural design from personal experience in order to ensure practical relevance in teaching and engineering research on this basis.
Extensive facilities for experimental work are available for research and teaching - partly in joint use -with other departments
The participation in the academic administrative autonomy is a job-related task. The employment and performance requirements apply pursuant to §§ 61, 62 of the Higher Education Act of Hessen. The professorship comprises an established post.
