Temporary full-time position (currently 40 hours per week). The position is currently limited to a period of 2 years (§ 2 Abs. 1 Satz 2 WissZeitVG).


  • Active collaborative participation in research and teaching in the Organometallic Chemistry group
  • Independent research work in a subarea of low-valent main-group element chemistry
  • Assistance in the application for and realisation of research projects


  • Master degree in Chemistry with above-average final grade, obtained at an internationally recognised university
  • Postgraduate degree at PhD level (or equivalent foreign degree) in the area of preparative molecular chemistry
  • Extensive experience in handling air- and moisture-sensitive compounds (Schlenk, glove-box, and cannula techniques)
  • High proficiency in spoken and written English

Advantageous are:

  • Substantial teaching lab experience
  • Substantial experience in supervising technical staff, research students, or PhD candidates
  • Careful, conscientious, structured, and independent approach to work
  • Creative and result-oriented working style
  • Good team player qualities (sense of responsibility, self-awareness, flexibility, organisational and communicative skills)
  • High intrinsic motivation
  • Excellent knowledge of and substantial practical experience in Organometallic Chemistry
  • Reasonably good command of the German language
