for the sustainable transformation of energy and material conversion processes with and of complex fluids (e.g., hydrogen and ammonia) in interaction with novel materials. The professorship will strengthen the research area of energy technology.

We are looking for a scientifically established person who represents the field with high commitment in both research and teaching. The focal points of the professorship's research activities, which are oriented towards both fundamental principles and applications, lie in at least two of the following areas:

  • Plant and apparatus engineering with corresponding components for the sustainable transformation of energy and material conversion processes (such as machinery, systems, apparatus, and their distribution networks)
  • Development and design of components considering the interaction of novel working fluids (e.g., hydrogen, natural refrigerants, or ammonia) as well as other reactive fluids with novel materials (e.g., recycled materials) concerning process and plant safety under sustainable aspects
  • Development of numerical simulation and optimization methods for engineering in the components

Willingness to partake in collaborations within the Institute of Thermal Energy Technology and other institutes in the faculty or the university, as well as participation in collaborative projects, is desired. Research activities are verified through relevant publications in scientific conference proceedings and journals, successful patent applications are beneficial. Experience in scientific collaboration and acquiring third-party funding (including federal, state, and industry sources) is to be presented. Participation in academic self-administration is part of the responsibilities. Teaching duties include regularly conducting courses in the field of plant and apparatus engineering, especially for study programs such as Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics, Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency, and Sustainable Materials and Processes. Teaching experiences and didactic-methodological skills have to be documented.
