Research Assistant (m/f/d), EG 13 TV-H, fixed-term and part-time position (currently 30 hours per week)

The position is initially limited for 36 months until 31.12.2025 as the latest as part of the project "Collaborative Research Centre 1319 Extreme Light for the Analysis and Control of Molecular Chirality (ELCH)" in accordance with § 2 Abs. 1 WissZeitVG. The possibility of a doctorate is given.

Tasks:

  • Research within the above-mentioned Collaborative Research Projekt 1319, subproject Photon-induced chiral interactions for the detection and separation of enantiomers

Requirements:

  • Completed scientific university degree in physics (diploma, Master or equivalent) with at least good success. The required degree must be available by the recruitment date at the latest.
  • Scientific profile including Master's thesis in Theoretical Physics.
  • Demonstrated prior knowledge in at least one of the following areas: quantum optics, quantum electrodynamics, atomic and molecular physics, open quantum systems

Advantageous are:

  • Experience in working with the Green tensor for the electromagnetic field
  • Prior knowledge of macroscopic quantum electrodynamics, resonance energy transfer, dispersion forces, chiral molecules, or Rydberg physics
  • Knowledge of Mathematica
  • Thorough and independent working style
  • A high degree of organizational and communication skills as well as team spirit
  • Interest in collaborating with experimental research groups
  • Teaching skills in German and English
