According to § 64 of the Hessian Higher Education Act, the professorship is initially limited for a period of six years. After positive tenure evaluation, the transfer of a W2 - professorship will take place.

The professorship is to offer courses in legal psychology in the two Master programs “Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy” as well as “Psychology”, covering the entire breadth of the field. Special emphasis in teaching is placed on the treatment of offenders and legal psychological assessment. The future position holder should have proven high didactic competencies as well as a strong commitment to teaching.

A successfully completed doctorate as well as licensure in psychological psychotherapy, or started psychotherapy training are prerequisites for application. Research activity should be demonstrated by publications, particularly in peer-reviewed international journals. In addition, experience in legal psychological assessment, experience in obtaining external funding, and involvement in academic self-governance are desired.

A willingness to collaborate with basic science fields of the Department is desirable. Commitment to the Psychotherapeutic University Outpatient Clinic is expected.

The Department of Psychology values transparent, reproducible, and replicable research and supports open scientific practices (“Open science”). The applicant will be asked to document how he/she has pursued and/or will pursue open science practices in the past and in the future.

The hiring requirements and the performance requirements according to §§ 61 and 64 (3) of the Hessian Higher Education Act apply.
