in the framework of LOEWE-project “Integrated Livestock-Plant-Agroecosystems (GreenDairy)”. The planned start date is January 1st 2022 with funding available for three years (§ 2 Abs. 1 WissZeitVG).

The Grassland Science and Renewable Plant Resources group focuses on remote sensing of agricultural crops. The spatio-temporal variability of yield and quality parameters of crops and grassland is analysed using UAV-based sensors. Based on extensive preliminary studies the research work in GreenDairy will assess yield, atmospheric N-fixation and forage quality of legume-grass-mixtures. The project is part of an interdisciplinary research consortium investigating ways for the optimi-sation of dairy production in organic agriculture in a broad inter-disciplinary approach.
